Sherlock: Ravenclaw. A lot of people put him in Slytherin, but he doesn’t have the ambition and desire to succeed that slytherins do. He’s intelligent but in an out of the box, not traditional way. He’d fit well in Ravenclaw.

John: Gryffindor. John is willing to go to great lengths for his friends including sacrificing himself. He has been willing to lay down his life for his friends. He has gone against the grain by working with Sherlock even though he’s difficult.

Mycroft: Slytherin. Mycroft is a textbook Slytherin. Mycroft measures his worth on success and prestige. He is ambitious and cares deeply to keep climbing the ranks among his peers.

Jim Moriarty: Slytherin. He embodies the cunning, ambition, and ruthlessness of Slytherin at its darkest. He plays mind games, manipulates entire systems, and is obsessed with winning, not for justice or anything like that, but to prove he’s the best.

Greg Lestrade: Gryffindor. Lestrade is brave, loyal, and willing to take personal and professional risks to do the right thing, especially in supporting Sherlock when others doubt him. His moral compass and sense of duty fit well with Gryffindor’s values. Also adrenaline junkies like him fit well into gryffindor.

When I just read this diary of the wimpy kid fancomic called Dysfunctional Perspective all my mind could think of is that Rodrick and Greg reminded me of Sirius and Regulus and like.... they're so similar??

The rebel kid that gets the worst of the abuse because they constantly fight back and the younger sibling who copes by conforming to their parents view and rejects any implication that prove that their family is much worse than they first thought but instead of Regulus figuring it out like Greg did in the comic and realizing that the shit that happened in their house wasn't okay and that he was distoring his perspective to suit his image.

He and Sirius spend years on opposing sides until Sirius leaves and then Regulus joins the death eaters and then finally realizes that everything is wrong and this wasn't how he wanted his life to go and he had no friends and his parents wouldn't support him and the only person he could think that could get him out of this situation would sneer at him every time they so much as made eye contact

then everything with the horcrux, Voldemort and kreacher happens and Regulus dies because he feels like this is the only way he could make a difference but in the end it wasn't until about twenty years later that the horcruxes and Voldemort were finally destroyed so he had died for naught and Sirius never finds out that his little brother had died trying to do something good for the first time in his short, short life
